This is a trip for the dreamers, for those who are seeking unrevealed adventures! Along these paths you will sense the fragrance of immortelle and sage, taste the sun in olive oil and the sea in Kvarner shrimp. You will find serenity, meet some locals and, who knows, maybe even make new friends!
This kind of trip is an intimate, authentic, real spice mixture of nature, culture and gastronomy.

1st DAY

Arrival to Crikvenica and lungomare hike along a part of the Path of Waves. During the hike, you can enjoy beautiful views of the coast, islands and mountains of Gorski Kotar. Departure for the island of Krk. A stop in Omišalj and a short hike to the remains of the ancient town of Municipium Flavium Fulfinum from the second half of the 1st century AD and an Early Christian Basilica from the 5th century AD. Accommodation in Krk.

2nd DAY

In the morning we will walk “to the Moon”. This path goes through a forest area that leads to the karst and rocky, completely bare plateau known as the "Plateau of the Moon" because the whole landscape resembles a stone desert. Along this path, you will find viewpoints offering you a stunning view of the Baška valley, the island of Prvić and the blue sea. It is a part of the well-known pilgrimage trail “Camino Krk”, a 150 km long section of the Camino Croatia route. Ride to the town of Krk, which was a Roman municipality and the centre of the Frankopans, dukes of Krk. Sightseeing of the old town: Cathedral of Our Lady, the Romanesque Church of St Quirinus, the fortified castle with the remaining gates and surrounding walls. Next stop is Vrbnik, an ancient town situated on a 48 m high cliff over the sea, known for its vineyards and excellent local white wine „Vrbnička žlahtina“. Wine tasting and degustation of famous prosciutto from the island of Krk.

3rd DAY

Morning ferryboat ride from the island of Krk to the island of Cres. The inhabitants of Cres often say that their motto is “No stress on Cres“ as tranquillity, tradition and slow living are a way of the island life. Visit to the town of Cres and walk through its small, Venetian town centre with narrow streets, tiny medieval churches and palaces, and “mandrać“, i.e. a small harbour. Visit to the local olive oil mill and degustation of local olive oil “Mosaico”. In the afternoon, hiking along a part of the long-distance trail Via Apsyrthides, through the hundred years old olive gardens and sheep pastures surrounded by stone fences (dry walls) to the small church of St Salvador, a point with the most beautiful sea view! Accommodation in Cres. Dinner in a typical restaurant in fisherman village Valun (seafood) or in the small settlement Loznati (meat, local specialty-lamb).

4th DAY

Ride along the curvy island roads, through olive gardens, sheep pastures and across the small bridge to the island of Lošinj. Visit to Mali Lošinj, the biggest town and harbour on the island. It was pronounced a climate health resort and became one of the favourite holiday destinations in 19th century. Visit to the Apoxyomenos Museum in Mali Lošinj, which hosts a bronze, life-size statue of an athlete, an original piece found in the Lošinj sea, made by Greek sculptors in the 4th century BC. In the afternoon, ride along the small roads through the olive gardens and sheep pastures to Lubenice, an old settlement on a 378 m high cliff above the sea. Visit to the small Sheep breeding museum. Return to the town of Cres and visit to the “Ruta” association, where we will find out how to make the traditional island material – felted wool.

5th DAY

Departure for the north part of the island of Cres, Tramontana woods, known for their special atmosphere, making it a perfect place to connect with nature. There we will take a walk through old labyrinths – walking in such labyrinths is considered a movement meditation. Visit to the town of Beli, a little ancient settlement located on a hilltop above the sea, offering a splendid view of the surroundings. Beli indeed has a lot to offer: remains from the Roman Age, medieval forts, Gothic churches, Glagolitic inscriptions, and colourful house façades with various ornaments. We will also visit the Beli Visitor Centre, dedicated to the main natural attraction of the island: griffon vultures. The centre also functions as a rescue centre with a recuperation area for injured birds. Departure for Opatija on the mainland.

6th DAY

Today we are exploring Učka Nature Park. Our first stop will be a multimedia exhibition in the new Poklon Visitor Centre where the natural, cultural and historical values of the Učka Nature Park and the surrounding area are presented in a modern and interactive way. Hike to the Vojak peak (1401 m, starting at 922 m) or easier route: Land-art trail. This circular trail is a combination of artistic interventions in the form of land art and natural beauty. If you are looking for a special adventure, you can spend a day with the ranger driving in off-road vehicles and discovering protected areas while enjoying breathtaking panoramic views. Return to Opatija. Dinner in Volosko, a picturesque small fisherman village where life has long been oriented towards the sea. In Volosko you can discover fishermen’s secrets, relax on the terrace of a restaurant by the sea and enjoy famous Kvarner shrimps during the farewell dinner.

7th DAY

Walk along the beautiful forest promenade Carmen Sylva in the morning. This trail gives you the opportunity to experience Opatija from a new perspective and admire the fantastic Riviera and Kvarner Bay views from a green oasis. For over a hundred years hikers have remained fascinated by the beauty of the town’s green hinterland – even kings, queens and other royals who came here in search of peace and relaxation.
