1st Day OPATIJA – LUNGO MARE
Arrival to Opatija, in the evening walk on „Lungo mare“, path by water that goes from small town of Volosko to Lovran, like a bonding string that ties together towns on the coast, totaly more than 10km long. We are going from the small marina in Volosko to the yacht harbour on the other side of Opatija, an approx 3km long walk. Along this strech of Lungomare we enjoy the blue colour of the open sky and sea of the Kvarner bay, as well as green colour of the lush vegetation on the other side and breed the fresh and slightly salty Adriatic air. Hotel in Opatija.
2nd Day OPATIJA – UČKA mountain
The forest-covered Učka mountain, protected as a Nature Park, dominates the skyline above Opatija and Lovran and practicaly divides the Kvarner region from central Istria. From the Vojak peak (1401 m) there are beautiful views to the sea, the gulf of Kvarner, to the islands of Cres, Lošinj, Rab, as well to the Istrian inlands. Starting from Opatija, we ride up the old Rijeka-Istria road, to the Poklon terrace (922m), starting point to the summit. Walking time: cca 2-2,5hrs, from 922m to 1401m). There are many paths leading up to the mountain and if you prefer, we can choose another, less demanding one, on the lower altitude. Return to Opatija.
3rd Day OPATIJA –ZELENI VIR – VRAŽJI PROLAZ – FUŽINE
Ride to Gorski kotar mountain region and visit to its famous Zeleni vir (The green whirlpool), a natural strong spring at the bottom of a cave and to „Vražji prolaz“(Devil’s pass), 800 m long canyon with vertical cliffs more than 100m high and the stream at the bottom of passage. On the way to Zeleni vir, we are walking on the path through beautiful nature, near small stream of Curak (4 km). Through the canyon, there are bridges and stairs, which permit safe walking during the visit. If you are here in May, you can enjoy walk through meadows covered with white flowers, like in a fairy-tale. Accommodation in a small village of Fužine, located on a lake.
4th Day FUŽINE – SNJEŽNIK mountain – FUŽINE
Ride to Platak, starting point for excursions to the mountains above Rijeka, located on 1.100 m altitude. Walk to Snježnik Mountain (1.505m), pleasant walk through the woods and mountain meadows to the top, from where there are beautiful views to the surrounding mountains on the north side and to the sea and islands of the Kvarner Bay on the south. Return to Fužine.
5th Day FUŽINE – KAMAČNIK – RASTOKE – PLITVICE LAKES area
Ride to Kamačnik, a picturesque canyon located near the town of Vrbovsko. The path, partly crossing the Kamačnik River on the wooden bridges is total 6km long, elevation 370m to 600m and is surrounded by beautiful nature. Afterwards ride to the fairy-tale watermill village of Rastoke, located on the blue-green waters of the river Slunjčica. The fans of “The Lord of the Rings” can find this picturesque place very similar to Shire! Overnight in Plitvice Lakes area.
6th Day PLITVICE – PLITVICE Lakes area
Many people find the National Park Plitvice Lakes a “Lost Paradise”, and see there for the first time crystal clear water in all shades of green and blue. There are 16 beautiful lakes of crystal blue-green colour, fed by many small streams, which spill into each other in cascades and thundering waterfalls. During walking, you pass dense forests; there are partly wooden bridges across the lakes, as well as electric boat on the biggest lake, Kozjak. Sightseeing and free time for enjoying the nature and the lakes. Overnight in Plitvice Lakes area.
7th Day PLITVICE Lakes area
The arrangement includes:
