ZADAR accessible old town and dreamlike monuments
DAY 1: PETRČANE near Zadar
Arrival to the small town of Petrčane, located on a small peninsula near the town of Petrčane, a few kilometres to Zadar.
DAY 2: ZADAR sightseeing
Sightseeing of Zadar, which beautiful old town is complete barrier-free. Its rich history is reflected in its numerous monuments, such as the Roman Forum and St. Donatus Church, a magnificent monument of Romanesque architecture. This will also be the unique opportunity to enjoy the splendid view (Alfred Hitchcock said the sun set here it is the most beautiful in the world), listening to “The Sea organ”. It is an experimental musical instrument which plays music by tubes located underneath of large marble steps near the sea. The waves create somewhat random but harmonic sounds. Just next to it, there is an installation “The Greeting to the Sun”, made of hundreds of glass plates, with the aim to communicate with the light, like the Sea Organ do with the sound. Return to the hotel.
DAY 3: PETRČANE
Relaxing day. We recommend pleasant walks on numerous well-maintained long paths through the pine wood near the hotel or on a promenade near the sea. Enjoy indoor pool and wellness area in the hotel.
DAY 4: PETRČANE – BIOGRAD NA MORU – PETRČANE
Excursion to the small town of Biograd na moru, known for being the former capital of the medieval Croatian Kingdom, today a pleasant tourist resort and nautical centre with its yacht harbour. Tasting of the local homemade products, such as prosciutto, chees, olive oil. Return to the hotel in Petrčane.
DAY 5: PETRČANE – NIN – PETRČANE
Excursion to the nearby small town of Nin, located on a peninsula in the middle of a shallow lagoon, connected to the mainland by two stone bridges. The smallest cathedral in the world can be found here. Nin has a rich cultural treasure, unspoilt nature, as well as remarkably beautiful surroundings.
DAY 6: PETRČANE
